Unlock Your Inner Calm: Tips to jump over stress-inducing hurdles.


From helping your kids go back to school to re-adjusting your own hectic schedules in order to fit everything in, its no wonder your own self-care practices get pushed to the back burner.


Despite the overwhelming rush of daily life, it's paramount to navigate through the obstacles that breed stress. Rather than succumbing to the hustle and bustle, let's explore effective strategies to overcome these hurdles and reclaim our inner peace.


1. Identify Your Stress Triggers: Understanding the root causes of your stress is the first step towards conquering it. Is it looming deadlines, incessant multitasking, feeling pulled in a million directions, or challenging relationships? By pinpointing the triggers, you can proactively address them.

2. Practice Mindfulness:

Mindfulness may mean being mindful about how you are scheduling out your calendar or doing things differently based on past experiences.


For example, I was talking to a busy mother of three who also juggles a full time job. She was mindful about the chaos of her kid's first day of school. To minimize stress this year, she proactively took the day off from work so that she could relax into the day and enjoy starting the school year off strong.


By, cultivating mindfulness and making small adjustments in your day, can allow you to stay present in the moment and embrace a sense of calm amidst the chaos.


Whether through meditation, 1 minute deep breathing exercises, or mindful walks, incorporating mindfulness into your daily routine can significantly reduce stress levels.


3. Establish Boundaries:

Learn to say no to tasks and commitments that don't align with your well-being and health goals. This one is tough for the people pleasers out there.


Tip: Be crystal clear on what your wellness goal is. If you are trying to have more downtime, then it starts by carving out that time in your calendar and honoring it. Maybe you have a draining family member you spend too much time talking to and you'ld love to remove this stressor. Then set boundaries around when you will talk to that person and for how long.


4. Embrace Self-Compassion:

Be kind to yourself during challenging times. Offer yourself the same empathy and understanding that you would extend to a friend facing adversity. Embracing self-compassion cultivates resilience and fosters a positive mindset.


5. Seek Support:

Don't hesitate to reach out to trusted friends, family, or healthcare professional. Isolation is the #1 cause for burnout. As humans, we are not designed to be alone. We need social connection and support to thrive.
